Chapter Officer Duties

Please read the following descriptions, and if you wish to put your name or that of another forward as a candidate for a chapter office, please send the info to the president of the local chapter (that email address is located on the chapter's main page)

President: Head officer of chapter, officiates at meetings, arranges meeting locations and sponsors (in conjunction with the other officers), interfaces with other chapters and the State Chairman.

Vice-President: Fulfills the duties of the president when the president is unavailable, is in charge of increasing chapter membership.

Secretary: In charge of chapter communications - keeps meeting minutes, publishes newsletter, in conjunction with the treasurer keeps membership list, receives chapter mail, writes thank-you letters to vendors and new members, communicates with state board.

Treasurer: Takes care of chapter finances - keeps checkbook, receives dues and meeting dinner fees, pays out bills as authorized by the president, keeps membership list in conjunction with the chapter secretary. Provides chapter financial information at the meetings, and prepares report on chapter finances quarterly for the board members to report to the state board.

State Board Members (2): Participate in quarterly Saturday 1/2 day CMIA state board meetings, which will require travel to the Bay Area and Southern California 1 time a year each and 2 teleconferences (Usually in Bay Area). Reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed by the chapter. Also act as senior advisors to the chapter officers. Please note: Only the State Board member's term is normally 2 years, and only one board member's seat is up for election each year.

All officers should make every effort possible to attend all chapter meetings.
