UC Davis Medical Center is seeking a Sr. Electronic Technician (BMET 2) for its Clinical Engineering department in Sacramento, California . This is for a full time 100% career position, working Monday through Friday variable hours, dayshift. May be required to work alternate shifts.

Performs repair and maintenance, with complex troubleshooting to the component level, on a wide variety of complex (including computerized) medical and laboratory devices in assigned areas, with an emphasis on neonatal ICU equipment and non-invasive Cardiology equipment.  Also responsible for scheduled maintenance testing and compliance for medical devices in assigned areas of responsibility.  Coordinate vendor repairs as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:Previous experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician. Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in the repair of electronic instrumentation. Electronic Technician skills to include electronic troubleshooting, ability to read electronic schematics perform electronic and electromechanical assembly and repair. Working knowledge of biomedical instrumentation, including computerized medical Systems. Knowledge of human physiology to understand the equipment being repaired and maintained. Ability to communicate with staff and vendors regarding equipment issues both verbally and in writing. This position is subject to a criminal background investigation. Occasional overtime may be required. Required to be available for paid standby basis for emergency repair calls on nights, weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

This position is responsible for periodic inspection, preventive maintenance and the repair and maintenance on a variety of medical devices and patient-care equipment. Primary focus is on scheduled maintenance of physiological monitors. Incumbent works with Clinical Engineering staff, supervisors, vendors and other UCDMC departments to coordinate inspection, maintenance, repair on existing equipment and to coordinate the installation and inspection of new equipment. This position performs incident follow-ups on equipment assigned in area of responsibility and establishes and maintains records on biomedical equipment, including inventory, repair history, maintenance history and repair parts usage.

Eagle Systems and Services is seeking resumes for full-time Biomedical Equipment Technicians to work on USAMMA/AMEDD projects at the Sierra Army Depot- Herlong, CA. The BMET uses traditional engineering expertise to analyze and solve problems regarding the design, development, and safety testing of biomedical equipment. Serves as the principal action officer for maintenance related acquisition support, fielding, and sustainment of medical laboratory equipment, contact patient monitoring systems, and digital imaging/radiographic equipment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience as a biomedical technician at Defense Depot San Joaquin or Sierra Army Depot Herlong. • Experience performing biomedical equipment maintenance and repair on Army Medical Equipment. • Experience performing maintenance cycles on Medical Equipment Sets that have returned from deployments and/or have been in long-term storage facilities. • Experience performing technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned Army medical equipment. • Experience with medical equipment overhaul.

Modality expertise (Imaging, Respiratory, Anesthesia, Sterilizers) is not required, but is highly desired.
