Biomedical Engineer Technician
Kaiser Permanente Northern California Clinical Technology is looking for a qualified Biomedical Engineer Technician for a full time position for in Berkeley, California. This position is responsible for providing the broad scope of service needed to maintain the general clinical instrumentation used in the delivery of healthcare in both hospital and medical office buildings (MOB) in the Kaiser Permanente system.
Duties: In NCAL KP medical facilities as needed, working under the supervision of the Clinical Technology Area Service Manager or designee, performing all phases of routine and corrective service of biomedical equipment.
Perform pre-issue and asset accounting, equipment installation and de-installation of related equipment as needed.
Must work collaboratively with OEM representatives, other biomedical engineer specialties to include but not limited to imaging (x-ray, CT, MR, U/S,N/M), Systems Integration (computers), instrumentation, laboratory, processor, laser, and KP-IT to complete the work.
Frequent travel will be required to customer sites to perform service, attend technical training, and may include assistance in equipment service in other Kaiser Permanente Regions.
Required carrying tools, test equipment, and repair parts.
After-hours work is required on a scheduled and non-scheduled basis to complete required work is part of the job.
Individual is required to complete applicable documentation of all work performed, in a timely basis.
Will be assigned to weekday and weekend on-call schedule to perform emergency service.
Communication devices will be supplied and will need to be kept ON during duty hours.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have formal and on-the-job training for service/support of medical instrumentation.
Minimum of 4 years experience in hospital service of medical instrumentation, RT/AN, and clinical laboratory equipment.
Associates degree or equivalent in electronics, physics or related science.
Must have good driving record and maintain valid unrestricted California class C or better driver's license.
Must have excellent communication and customer relation skills and be willing to work extended hours.
Must be able to lift 75-lbs. chest high.
Must possess good verbal and average reading & writing skills.
Must be proficient operating PC's with Windows operating systems.
Working knowledge of and various types of general instrumentation, Lab and RT equipment.
Must be willing to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
AAMI or VA BMET or CRES certification with vendor equipment focused training and A+, CNE, MCSE certification

Ultrasound Field Engineer
Global Medical Imaging is seeking a experienced ultrasound field engineer who can provide ultrasound service support and technical knowledge to customers in Raleigh, NC.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
1. Serve as primary onsite support engineer for all GMI customers within assigned territory for contract, warranty, and billable service calls.
2. Provide back-up onsite technical support in other territories as necessary for contract, warranty, and billable service calls.
3. Communicate with inside support staff to receive and provide detailed follow-up information regarding new ultrasound service calls, following up on open calls, and bringing issues to closure.
4. Consult by phone and e-mail with inside Technical Support Engineers to communicate information regarding system troubleshooting, diagnosing problem, and determining best route to resolve issue.
5. Travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair system failures as well as provide routine Preventive Maintenance (PM) services and FDA mandated updates.
6. Modify systems and programs to upgrade software and hardware to resolve equipment issues and maximize equipment performance.
7. Ensure GMI values are upheld in all customer communications and the highest level of customer service is provided in all interactions.
8. Generate billable service calls and PM services for new customers within territory.
9. Sell new service contracts and renewing existing customer contracts.
10. Generating capital sales leads and communicating those leads back to GMI sales team.
11. Train and disseminate knowledge to the rest of the organization regarding ultrasound equipment.
12. Participate in the on-call rotation schedule for after-hours service calls.
Qualifications/
