7:00 PM	Michael Erwine of MRE Dynatech NV LLC will present information on the recent positioning of the JCAHO regarding endoscope vigilance, and treating endoscopes as medical devices in your medical equipment inventory. We will investigate further, beyond the JCAHO requirements, what your facility can do to make a serious cost-savings effort on the total spend for endoscope service and repair. A technical overview of endoscopes is an integral part of the presentation, as are imaging attributes such as Field of View (Real), Field of View (Apparent), Modulation Transfer Frequency (MTF), Distortion, TVC (Transmission, Vignetting, and Coloration), etc.

The Orange County CMIA chapter formation meeting and social was a success with well over 90 in attendance and they voted overwhelmingly to move forward to create the chapter. A few days later the Board, at its quarterly meeting, approved accepting the chapter into the CMIA umbrella organization. The social also included a Business Expo, nominations and election of officers as well as nominations and election of State Board Members.

Early on when we were visiting with the local Biomed community we determined the need for an organization like ours. The CMIA is not just about having a meeting, we are much more than that," said Paul Conrad, CMIA, Chairman of the Board, Pro-Tem, Vice President, Conquest Imaging. "The CMIA provides the opportunity to grow through the networking, training and educational offerings we provide both at a local and state level," added Conrad.
