San Diego Chapter

The objective of the San Diego chapter of the California Medical Instrumentation Association is to promote the advancement and recognition of clinical biomedical engineering technology in our community. We attain these goals by providing:

  • continuing technical education of our membership,
  • source for personal growth and advancement,
  • forum for the open discussion of common issues,
  • focus group environment for manufacturers and service providers to design and enhance clinical products.

While San Diego is the newest CMIA chapter our roots go back over 20 years. Over that time a number of driving forces established informal organizations dedicated to the furtherance of local hospital clinical biomedical engineering. The objectives are not unlike those of the state CMIA organization but the lack of continuing management led to their demise. Linking the CMIA structure to local biomed personal.
