Dave Majeno
Volunteer, Medical Ministries
Co-Owner, Advanced Biomedical

Dave Majeno was raised by his single mother in Oakhurt, California.  He spent a majority of his time with his retired scientist grandfather, whom he admired.  Electronics and old car projects abounded.  Dave knew at an early age he wanted to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps.

Dave left high school early, had 3 children, then earned his GED and found himself a full-time single parent by the age of 25.  He always found joy in working on cars and repairing small appliances.  But he found that getting a job in the electronics field was difficult without having more than a GED.

An opportunity to take vocational courses came to Dave.  He took it—specializing in electronics and copier repair.  The following six years were spent repairing appliances such as refrigerators, washers, and dryers.  During that time, he began learning biomedical technician skills, which he enjoyed but found challenging, not having enough education in mathematics.

Having learned the field of biomed so well, Dave decided to start his own biomedical business in 2016.  That’s also when he began volunteering his time with Medical Ministries.  The charity desperately needed part-time biomed help, which Dave was able to provide.

By 2017 Dave made a life-changing move that continues to benefit him every day; he partnered with Advanced Biomedical (of the Central Coast).  Together with his partners, Dave’s company is driven by integrity, enthusiasm, and expert knowledge.

To this day Dave continues to donate his time with Medical Ministries through his organizational skills and expertise in evaluating biomedical equipment.  His contribution ensures the charity provides the world with medical equipment in good working order, ready for patient care.

“Medical Ministries is one of the few places where my time and biomedical expertise is more valuable than a money donation,” said Dave.

From Medical Ministries’ staff, to the people and organizations that contribute, to the workers that unload containers on the other side of the world—Dave is humbled and glad to be a part of the Medical Ministries mission.

Dave’s hobbies include fixing things, camping, and going to the beach at the ocean.  He met his lovely wife, Hema, in 2008.  Hema works as a physician’s assistant with Adventist Health.  Together with their son, Drue, they live in Fresno, California.
